I captured glorious views on a recent summer visit to Milagro Vineyards. Rick and Mitzi Hobson are producing very special wines just 45 minutes from Santa Fe. I was joined by friends and family for an afternoon of wine tastings and a personal tour of the charming winery. Corrales is a quaint little town, a hidden jewel and a fabulous visit in conjunction with an overnight stay at Los Poblanos Historic Inn.
Recently featured in the late summer issue of edible Santa Fe Albuquerque Taos, Milagro is touted for their 2010 Chardonnay. Characteristics of their wines embody the old world style of aging the wines on the premises in French oak barrels.
On display was fab art, recently completed by Santa Fe artist Jason Appleton, adding a whimsical tone among the vines offering abstract beauty and interest. The garden popped with colorful blooming buds as new friends enjoyed the relaxed nature and wine tastings. Paired with artisanal cheeses made by Old Windmill Dairy, my favorite the creamed Brie with New Mexico green chile!
The night moved on to a 4 course dinner paired with Milagro wines. Lots of laughter, good conversation and wonderful memories…a Summer Soiree that ended on a beautiful note with an overnight stay at Los Poblanos Historic Inn.
Thanks to my friends at edible for enhancing a very special weekend event!
